Meet the 2014 Broadcom Blog Squad, the lucky (and deserving) Broadcom interns who will be jetting to the annual International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.
This enthusiastic group is set to get the full CES experience and become the “eyes and ears” for those not attending the show. They’ll share with all of you – via blog posts, videos, Facebook photo albums and more – Broadcom’s news, demos from Broadcom’s booth and peeks at Broadcom’s technologies in action, via partner products. They’ll attend keynote speeches, sit-in on speaker panels and scour the show floor to bring you the best of CES – via the Broadcom Connected Blog.
Like last year, the Blog Squad will once again be headed by a professional tech journalist.
This year’s Blog Squad:
Fredric Paul is a special correspondent for Broadcom and a CES veteran. He is an award-winning writer, editor and content strategist who has spent his career covering the intersection of technology, business, and culture. His writing has appeared in MIT Technology Review, Omni, Conde Nast Traveler, and Newsweek, and he’s held senior editorial positions at ReadWrite, AllBusiness.com, InformationWeek, CNET, PC World, and PC|Computing. He holds degrees in English and Anthropology. Follow him on Twitter.
Katherine Higashida is a sales operations analyst intern at Broadcom, based in Irvine. She is currently a second-year Business Administration major at the University of California, Irvine, and is historian of her co-ed leadership fraternity. Katherine is also affiliated with the sorority Gamma Phi Beta, and loves being affiliated with both a professional and a social organization. In her free time, she enjoys playing fantasy basketball, going on foodie adventures, and updating her Instagram and Tumblr.
Arunav Sarkar is a Bluetooth IC design intern in the Mobile & Wireless Group at Broadcom’s San Diego office. He is currently a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego, where he is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. A tech enthusiast at heart, he’s been creating, breaking, and tinkering with electronics his whole life. When he’s not helping design Bluetooth chips at Broadcom, you can find him surfing, Salsa dancing or snorkeling with leopard sharks. No, they don’t eat people.
Evgeny Vinnik is a platform intern in the Mobile & Wireless Group at Broadcom. He is currently a Ph.D student at Simon Fraser University, where he is doing research on mobile technologies and power consumption reduction. During his time at Broadcom, Evgeny has been writing code for IMS/VoLTE wireless technology, compiling Android kernel and testing builds on our latest mobile platforms. In his free time, Evgeny, who hails from Russia, is a social media enthusiast and is active on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. He’s also an avid hiker and dabbles in oil painting. As a first-timer to Las Vegas, Evgeny is looking forward to experiencing the best of it and to trying out the coolest new tech at CES.
