We have recently announced our latest world-leading chip, BCM2727. Next-generation consumer devices based on this chip will support HD video record and playback, 12 Mpixels cameras with advanced ISP, and high-performance 3D for advanced user interfaces, navigation displays, and mobile gaming.

  • Software Engineers
      - Excellent C and Assembler programming skills
      - Industry or hobby experience in embedded software development

      - Exposure to software an advantage
  • Applications Engineers
      - At least 3 years industry experience in hardware and software design

The Mobile Multimedia Business Unit part of Broadcom's Mobile Platforms Group which designs, defines and delivers the next generation handheld devices with integrated cellular phone, digital camera, video camcorder and television capability using Broadcom's family of mobile multimedia processors.

The Mobile Multimedia Business Unit was formed by the acquisition of Alphamosaic Limited in September 2004. Currently, there are over 100 engineers and growing in Cambridge, U.K. committed to designing Broadcom chips. Broadcom's Cambridge employees are primarily focused on multimedia and applications processors along with the supporting critical software. More importantly, employees contribute to Broadcom's growing mobile and wireless IP and product portfolio including 2G and 3G baseband processors, cellular radio, power management, associated wireless connectivity and comprehensive, field proven software.

      - Launched post-acquisition as Broadcom model BCM2702

  • In 2005, Apple launches their 5th generation iPod with video capabilities
      - Utilizes Broadcom BCM2702 for video functionality

  • In 2007, Broadcom launches BCM2727
