Highlighting the company's leadership in technologies for smartphones and other mobile devices, the following technologies and products will be demonstrated at the 2011 Mobile World Congress:

  • Cellular Baseband - Broadcom will demonstrate its new smartphone platforms based on the BCM28150 and BCM21654 baseband processors, featuring integrated applications and media processing, including its new Merlyn™ applications processor. These new baseband SoC solutions feature support for Android™ and other open operating system, with complete wireless connectivity platform support that includes Bluetooth, FM, Wi-Fi® and GPS capabilities.
  • GPS - With a new GPS + Bluetooth + FM combo chip (BCM2076) and new stand alone GPS transceiver (BCM45711), both supporting the new GLONASS satellite constellation as well as an upgraded assisted GPS (A-GPS) network, Broadcom demonstrates how the company is driving the inclusion of GPS as a feature in wider ranges of mobile devices and improving navigation in the urban canyon.
  • Wireless Convergence - Broadcom "combo" chips enable the cost effective integration of multiple wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM radio into space and power constrained mobile devices. Broadcom's new combo solutions include the latest versions of these popular technologies and include the company's InConcert co-existence technology that allows them all to work better together. Demonstrations include the latest high-speed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies seamlessly communicating with a number of wirelessly connected consumer devices.
