"High-performance wireless connectivity is becoming a must-have feature for notebooks as consumers use their PCs for bandwidth-intensive multimedia applications beyond typical data transfers and Internet surfing," said Michael Hurlston, Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Wireless LAN Business Unit. "Broadcom is working with industry leading vendors to integrate Intensi-fi technology into a variety of PCs and networking equipment, creating an ecosystem of interoperable, standards-based products that provide an unparalleled wireless experience for next generation applications."

As the world's fourth largest notebook brand, Acer combines state-of-the-art performance, elegant design and proven reliability to reflect the spirit and passion of Formula One racing. The ultra-portable Ferrari 1000 integrates Broadcom's Intensi-fi and Blutonium® Bluetooth® 2.0 wireless technologies to deliver seamless communication. The Ferrari 1000 also features wired technologies, including a Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet solution and an integrated 56K ITU V.92 modem.

"Broadcom Intensi-fi solutions enable our customers to stream large-content files from their notebooks to other digital devices via extremely fast and reliable Wi-Fi connections," said David Lee, Head of Product Management, Mobile Computing Business Unit, Acer Inc.
