DOCSIS®/EuroDOCSIS™ 3.0 Advanced Cable Modem Termination System
The Broadcom BCM93216 QAMLink DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS CMTS reference design represents the industry's first complete DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS-compliant silicon solution to the DOCSIS 3.0 standard for the head-end cable plant. The BCM93216 CMTS supports the DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 1.0 and 3.0 specification enabling QoS for the simultaneous processing of voice, video and data on a prioritized basis. The BCM93216 CMTS includes the BCM3215 M-CMTS Core MAC, the BCM3216 DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS Advanced DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS MAC, and the BCM3142 12-Channel TDMA/SCDMA burst demodulator. It provides all the necessary functionality required to receive and transmit high-rate digital data to and from a cable plant.
The BCM93216 is complemented at the subscriber by the BCM93380, DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS-compliant DOCSIS 3.0 silicon solution. The BCM93380 is based on the BCM3380 single-chip DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, which integrates all the major functions of a cable modem into a single device. Together, the BCM93216 and the BCM93380 provide vendors with a seamless end-to-end silicon solution for development and testing of a DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0-compliant cable modem and CMTS with advanced TDMA and SCDMA upstream and advanced PHY downstream functions.
