GPRS/GSM Single-Chip Baseband Processor
The BCM2124 GPRS/GSM baseband processor offers a high level of system integration, performance, and features for entry-level mobile devices. A small footprint, single-silicon substrate contains all analog and digital GSM and multislot GPRS processing functions. A flexible baseband control interface supports a wide range of transceivers including the GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, and GSM1900 frequency bands.
Interface functions and drivers are integrated to enable auxiliary components to connect directly to the chip. Separate parallel LCD and ARM memory busses allow the user interface to be updated without impacting the real-time radio operations.
- Single-chip, mixed-signal, 296-pin FBGA package (10 mm x 10 mm)
- GSM voice handset capabilities: FR/EFR/HR/AMR
- Comprehensive GPRS/GSM System Design with release 99 GPRS/GSM protocol stack and a proven reference design for bar and flip-type handsets
- Integrated up to 64-tone MIDI polyringer eliminates costly PCB component. Allows mixing of polyringer and voice audio.
