Broadcom has a family of high-speed CMOS-based optical networking chips for data networks and telecom networks. These CMOS-based silicon solutions enable telephone and service providers to cost effectively transport voice and data traffic across metropolitan and wide area networks by reducing the cost and power and increasing functionality of equipment to support these voice and data services. Broadcom's family of optical networking chips includes SONET and 10 Gigabit Ethernet transceivers, equalizers, SerDes, DWDM transport processors, both OC-192 transceivers and OC-48 transceivers, and high-speed switch fabric devices.
For transmitting and receiving data in Ethernet, storage and telecommunications networking equipment, Broadcom offers a family of serializer/deserializer (SerDes) chips, as well as integrated cores that are incorporated into many of Broadcom's standard products and customers' custom silicon products.
Reduce size and power and increase performance of long haul equipment with the Broadcom multi-rate OC-192 transceivers, which offer the ultimate in low jitter performance. Build low-cost, high-density optical transport equipment with our SONET OC-48 transceivers. These chips enable telecom equipment to handle more bandwidth in a smaller space and accommodate more traffic over existing data and telecom networks.
