BCM53324

24-Port GbE Energy Efficient Ethernet Switch

The Broadcom BCM53324 is a highly integrated stand-alone Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch supporting Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). It has a high-density port count and combines a packet buffer, SerDes, PHY, MAC, switching database, and a nonblocking switch fabric into a single 0.65 nm CMOS device. The BCM53324 is designed for both smart and unmanaged switching applications.

The device complies with IEEE 802.3™, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, and IEEE 802.3x specifications. It incorporates eight integrated GbE PHYs and up to 16 MACs (10/100/1000 Mbps). The BCM53324 supports flexible Quality of Service (QoS), including IEEE 802.1p and DiffServ/TOS. Up to 8K MAC addresses, 4K VLANs, and STP and IEEE 802.1x MAC security are supported. The per-port rate control is ideal for MTU/MDU switches. The management application uses a Broadcom serial control (BSC) controller and an integrated MIPS® core.
