Wireless LAN

Broadcom's AirForce™ product family offers the broadest line of Wi-Fi® integrated circuits in the industry for system designs ranging from PC and consumer devices to access points and routers. Broadcom's AirForce™ 802.11a, 802.11b, 54g® and Intensi-fi® solutions enable manufacturers to build Wi-Fi products with the performance, interoperability, security and ease-of-use that consumers and businesses demand. AirForce solutions can be found in leading brands of Wi-Fi gear such as Apple, Belkin, Buffalo, Dell, eMachines, Gateway, HP, Linksys/Cisco, and Motorola.

All AirForce chipsets feature an all-CMOS design, SmartRadio™ performance, and a common architecture that makes it easier to design and manufacture high-volume wireless LAN products. This highly-integrated architecture enabled Broadcom to deliver the industry's first single-chip Wi-Fi solution. In addition, Broadcom's OneDriver™ software works across all 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and draft-802.11n solutions, providing a single driver image and a number of standards-based performance enhancements including Xpress™ Technology and 125 High Speed Mode™ for greater overall network throughput, BroadRange™ for higher performance at extended range, and SecureEasySetup™ for push-button setup and security configuration.

The AirForce family, also features the best security offering in the industry, with Wi-Fi Protected Access™ (WPA and WPA2), a hardware-based implementation of the advanced encryption standard (AES), and support for Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX4).
