for multimedia home networking using any of the existing mediums in the home - both wired and wireless.

The project is developing a revolutionary multimedia home networking connectivity technology that allows
transmission at 1,2 Gbps (Phy Rate) using any of the existing wires in the home - the power lines, coaxial
cables or phone lines. Such networks will transform the way we view movies and television broadcasts, listen
to music, access information, and play games.

The Project GENIO aims to define the connected home of the future allowing consumer electronic devices to be
accessed remotely
A revolution in in-building connectivity that will allow Gigabit networks to be installed using the existing
wires in the building, the power lines, coaxial cables or phone lines to interconnect to both Gigle Gigabit
In-Home Networks and Service Providers Networks. Such networks will transform the way we deliver contents
to the home.
