Dual-Port 10GBASE-T PHY with XAUI & XFI, 25mm BGA
Complete two-port 100/1000/10GBASE-T solution operating at 100m over Category 6a or Category 7 unshielded twisted-pair cable.
It is based on a highly advanced digital signal processor-based architecture to allow robust operation over unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) wiring. It is a highly integrated solution combining enhanced analog front ends with digital adaptive equalizers, ADCs, phase-locked loops, line drivers, LDPC encoders and decoders, echo cancellers, crosstalk cancellers and all required support circuitry. The BCM84833 is optimized to enable switch, controller and other general 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) connectivity applications. Each port in the BCM84833 contains one XFI interface and two XAUI™ interfaces. Any one of these interfaces can be connected on the MAC side or line side. One of the four lanes on each XAUI interface is reserved to support the SGMII interface, which offers lower-speed 100/1000BASE-T operation. This dual port enables customers to design high-density Top of the Rack (ToR) switches and server NIC controllers for data center applications.
