Two 10-Gb/s to 80-Gb/s Line Card Reference Designs and One Fabric card with Up to 160-Gb/s Bandwidth
Consists of up to two line cards, with capacity ranging from 10 Gb/s to 80 Gb/s, and one fabric card, providing up to 160 Gb/s total user bandwidth.
The fabric card can use the FE device, or can be a simple shorting card demonstrating a mesh configuration. This demonstrates the SAND solution for smaller systems, where a few FAP devices can connect to each other without an active fabric. Similar to the Gobi, the Negev system highlights the versatile traffic-management capabilities of the SAND chipset. The Negev system demonstrates that a system built using the SAND chipset can address the needs of the enterprise and data centers, while meeting service providers' traffic-management requirements in the metro, core and edge, where compliance to specifications from the Metro Ethernet Forum and other standard bodies is required.
