The 118F25 is a mesa-type PIN detector that supports lightwave applications up to a 28-Gb/s baud rate. This device is designed for substrate illumination from a photonic circuit waveguide or turning mirror. The substrate side incorporates an InP lens etched into the semi-insulating substrate surface and broadband AR coating. Passive alignment with respect to a nominal location of optimal coupling is possible, with approximate alignment tolerance ±10 μm. Various lens strengths and solder configurations are available.
