Introduction to Fibre Channel Routing (FCR)

This course provides students with the technical and process information needed to configure and deploy the Brocade Fibre Channel Routing (FCR) feature in Brocade Fibre Channel storage area networks (SAN)

Duration:120 minutes
Delivery type: WBT
Course Type: Fundamentals
Job Role: Administrator

Objectives

After completing this course, learners should be able to:
  • Describe Fibre Channel-to-Fibre Channel routing (FC-FC routing) and related hardware and software license requirements
  • Discuss Fibre Channel-to-Fibre Channel routing terminology, theory and concepts
  • Compare physical frame flow versus logical frame flow between routed fabrics
  • Identify additional FC-FC routing features
  • Discuss FC-FC routing implementation using commands and Brocade Network Advisor
  • Identify commands and Network Advisor tools used to verify routing and connectivity
  • Demonstrate management commands used in Brocade FC-FC routing
  • Identify common troubleshooting topics related to FC-FC routing

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, students should have experience with the following:

  • Six months experience with storage and storage area networks
  • Completed the FC101: Intro to Fibre Channel Concepts web based training

Target audience

This course is designed for those interested in learning about the Brocade Fibre Channel-to-Fibre Channel routing (FC-FC routing) technology and how it can be leveraged to allow device access between two or more fabrics without merging the fabrics Brocade SAN environments.
