This course provides students with the technical and process information needed to utilize the Brocade Monitoring Alerting Policy Suite (MAPS) feature in Brocade Fibre Channel storage area networks (SAN), based on Brocade Fabric OS v8.1.0 with Brocade 16 & 32 Gbps Fibre Channel products.

Objectives

After completing this course, students should be able to:

  • Explain what the MAPS is and how it is used in the fabric
  • Describe MAPS fundamentals and identify the different MAPS elements
  • Discuss licensing requirements for MAPS
  • Implement and manage MAPS using Brocade Network Advisor
  • Implement and manage MAPS using the command line interface (CLI)

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, students should have experience with the following:

  • Brocade Gen 5 and Gen 6 products
  • Storage area networking (examples include fabrics, port types, device types and ISLs)
  • Brocade switch administration (examples include switch configuration, RASLogs, switch monitoring, fabric monitoring, and zoning)
  • Brocade Network Advisor

This course is designed for storage and system administrators, systems engineers, and technical support engineers involved with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Brocade products.
